Plan Of The Project

Topic
I have decided to hold a competition for my Communication Project. When I told this to my friends they told it was original. I thought it was original too most people make web pages or to something boring. So my project is a 3 hours presentation of games and fun, but mostly fun. The presentation is about video games. I started having discussions with my partner at late March, but we actually we started to go on with the plan on mid-April.

For April we discussed about what would be the most equal and fairest way to divide the workload. There were some problems but we overcame them.

The table below shows the workload:

Eugene Tsiflitzis Jonathan Lee
? Planning events for the presentation

? Chose the games that are going to be played

? Writing up the questioner

? Writing up 4 pages from the webpage

? Organizing the rental of the N64 and reviewing the games that were played.  ? Chose the games we played

? Organized the use of Playstation

? Organized and maintained Home Page

? Arrangements of where the competition will take place

? Scanning photos for the evidence of the presentation

Intention

My intention towards this project are to show that playing games is very relaxing, and show to the people who say that console games are not as good as PC games. Console machines in Japan are one of the most used way to relax after a hard days work, but there are still people out there that think that console games are a waste of time and money. We hope that we might change a few people? mind about this misunderstood creation and that they will be reflected on the comments and opinions after a bit of playing by the competitors. Anything that we do in our Communication Project will be on a Web Page.

Audience
The presentation will focus on the age group of 15-21 where we they will share the same type interests. But since the all the details and the opinions of the people who attend the presentation will be posted onto the homepage then anyone stubble into our page they will be able to feel the atmosphere that was at the presentation.

Form Of Presentation
At first we where going to present the report and everything else on pen and paper but I thought that only a couple of people would be able to see that information, Jonathan had his own reasons as well and we decided to present it as a web-page.

Resources Used
The equipment that were used for the presentation were two Consoles Sony Playstation and Nintendo 64. They are 2 recently developed consoles. The games that we chose were from mainly three categories like Fighting games, Flight Simulation and Car racing games. The means to fund the presentation were either donated others. since this project in made to make profit we had to keep the cost at a minimum. Since the money that we acquired was not enough to pay for the costs the rest was paid by us.

Own Views On The Success of The Communication Project

I as well as my partner are very much addicted to games. It was like a match made in heaven. The best way to present a project done on games is by showing them how much fun it is. We thought with the coming of the mid-term exams that having a presentation that takes all the stress out of some.

Summary of Work

There were problems such as I could not do any of the web-page at home because my computer could not go on the internet, and it could not support the programs. So that meant that I had to go to his and to the work there. The other major problems we had were that 2 people from the audience came 1:30 late so we had to go on damage control and reorganize the presentation. But whatever the problem was we as a team overcame it.

Another problem that came up that the host that we registered our homepage somehow crashed. That meant that we had to register our home-page again which took a couple of hours. But when I read our E-Mail we found out that it had been transferred.

Evaluation of audience response

Everybody thought that the presentation  was a great success and it was enjoyed very much.

The bad thing that stops us from  the audience saying that the presentation went without a hitch was the 2 people who came very late. In my opinion that was the reason for the comments given by the audience. Almost everybody said that the project could be more organized, all of them in different ways. That being Sam Fulton said that ?ore involvement while other people were playing, e.g. when one was playing there would be another activityˇ¨. ?f it was a bit more ordered, but for what it was it was greatˇ¨ said Josh Oldmeadow.

The positive things that the audience told us are that:

? enjoyed the competition because it was a change to get together with friends and enjoy playing gamesˇ¨. Said by Josh Oldmeadow.

Sam Fulton said that ˇ§ I enjoyed that competition because I enjoy playing games and lots of my friends were  there.ˇ¨

What I Have Learned.

Since I have not got a N64 or a Sony Playstation I learned that playing them was very different to PC games. I learned more about my friends and generally I got more organized.

I also learned to make home-pages was not as hard as I thought. The actual making the web-page didn? take more than a couple of hours. The bad thing once you upload the web-page and you change you have upload which get really frustrating.
